Gene Editing Services

Gene knockout in hESCs and iPSCs using the CRISPR technique

The Yale hESC/iPSC Core provides services of single nucleotide replacement, knock-in and knock-out pieces of DNA in pluripotent cells using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. It can be done with in-house hESC or iPSC lines or custom-provided cell lines. Although we do accept live cells, we prefer frozen vials that have been confirmed to be negative for mycoplasma contamination. For cell lines derived from patients, they need to have been tested and found to be negative for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. The service takes from 3 to 5 months to complete and the cost is $11,358 per gene for Yale University investigators. This includes delivery of 3- 4 clones, which are sequence confirmed for right editing.
